Peter Hewitt
I do collages and oil paintings. Much of my work is a mixture of both mediums. The collages are often black and white. I use letters, numbers and images like clock faces, airplanes and insects etc, to create a pictorial narrative, the outcome of which may be Pop Art like, surrealistic or humorous. My influences are people like Max Ernst, Kurt Schwitters, Hannah Hoch, Richard Hamilton and Peter Blake.

My paintings are mostly abstract, often brightly coloured, bold interacting shapes, lines and circles etc, imitating natural forms like those found in trees and water. My still life works have an abstract quality and strong colour sense. Other than Pop Art my influences are Pablo Picasso, Fernand Leger, and Jean Miro etc.
